About the Program

Admission Policy
Qualified families will be able to enroll their children in the UK-1 After School Program. Families and Children who are interested in entering the program must meet the program criteria and apply. If chosen, parents will be obligated to the established rules and regulations set forth by the UK-1 Staff. All students will be enrolled annually for the program. Available space for the program is limited and will be reviewed on a case by case basis. Application forms will be available at the Downtown Undisputed located at 320 16th Street San Diego, CA. In order to maintain the safety and well being of all students, students will obey the rules and regulations in order to continue in the program as stated in the 2009-2010 Parent-Student Handbook.

Activities
Our program is based upon a complex Mixed Martial Arts Developmental Program. Children will start learning the basic striking techniques of Boxing and Muay Thai Kickboxing. The second half of the program will introduce the grappling arts of Wrestling (Folk Style, and Greco Roman), as well as Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and Judo. Also included within the scope of the program will be planned arts and craft projects, games and recreational filed trips, assisted homework time, life skills training, anti-bullying training, health and nutrition education and snack time are just a few of the growth activities.

Homework Club
Each day after training a supervised, quiet, “homework club” is scheduled in the program. Each child is responsible for keeping track of his/her own homework assignments. The staff can provide assistance with homework, but only if the student is clear about the assignment and is staying on task.

Daily Policy
Parents must sign out their children with the time each day. In the afternoon, the parent or staff member must sign in the child/children upon arrival to the UK-1 After School Program. This procedure is necessary for the safety of the students. Directly after school, a staff member will sign the child in and parents must sign them out.

Hours of Operation
The UK-1After School Program will begin (date). The program is held Monday through Friday. The Program participants will be members of the UK-1 Program for a period of one full year membership.

Elementary School Program 3:00 – 6:00
3:00- 3:50pm Striking Training- Boxing; Muay Thai
3:50- 4:15pm Break time Snack; change uniforms
4:15- 5:15pm Grappling Training- Wrestling; BJJ; Judo
5:15- 6:00pm Parental Pick up
